Kathryn Greenhill, of Murdoch University Library, gave a talk on SL at the National Library of Australia in February 2007, as part of their Digital Culture series.

I don't think we can access Second Life with our firewall, can we?
No web-wiz, you are right we can't. It is available in selected labs in some faculties. Otherwise you can download the software at home, but some would be relucant to do that. I think some fo the videos of SL give you a pretty good idea of the environment.jmcg
